NIXsolutions: Meta to Launch Standalone AI App

Meta is planning to release a standalone app for its AI-powered chatbot soon, CNBC reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. The app is expected to be announced in the second quarter. Currently, Meta AI is available only through its website, as well as on Facebook and WhatsApp.

While Meta AI is accessible to a large user base, many believe a dedicated app would offer a more seamless experience. Users say that interacting with the chatbot in a standalone application would enhance usability and allow them to take full advantage of its capabilities.

User Demand and Meta’s Vision

In January, a Threads user suggested that a standalone Meta AI app could unify the digital assistant across various devices, including Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. This would help users organize conversation histories and enable deeper personalization. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg responded with a red “100” emoji, signaling agreement.

During Meta’s fourth-quarter earnings call, Zuckerberg stated that Meta AI is expected to reach more than 1 billion users in 2024. He also expressed confidence that Meta AI would become the leading AI assistant.

Meta is also considering a paid subscription model for its AI chatbot, similar to OpenAI and Microsoft, which charge users for access to more advanced versions of ChatGPT and Copilot, notes NIXsolutions. The details of the pricing structure have not yet been disclosed, but we’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
