Instagram has introduced a new feature allowing users to assign nicknames to themselves and others in chats.
“You’re always in control of your nickname and can change it at any time. You can also decide who can change it. By default, this is set to people you follow, but you can also change it so that only you can update your nickname,” Instagram explained in a statement.
How to Set a Nickname
To create a nickname, tap on the chat name at the top of the conversation screen and select the “Nickname” section. From there, choose the user you want to assign a nickname to and set it.
Your Control Over Nicknames
This feature ensures that users have complete control over their nicknames. You can decide whether to allow only yourself or the people you follow to edit nicknames, adds NIXsolutions. This added layer of personalization aims to make chats more engaging and fun.
