Anthropic has introduced a new data analytics tool aimed at enhancing the accuracy of its AI chatbot, Claude. This tool helps Claude provide “mathematically accurate and repeatable answers” by generating and running JavaScript code to verify responses.
Currently in preview, the analytics tool allows Claude to process information from spreadsheets and PDFs. It performs calculations and presents results as interactive visualizations. Anthropic describes it as “an embedded code sandbox” that enables the chatbot to perform complex math, analyze datasets, and iterate on ideas systematically. This structured approach ensures the chatbot can clean, explore, and analyze data in detail before delivering answers.
Enhanced Data Analysis Capabilities
With this feature, users can leverage Claude for various data-driven tasks. For instance, a product manager could request an analysis of sales metrics for a specific country, or a financial analyst could provide monthly data and ask Claude to generate a dashboard highlighting key trends.
