The GamesIndustry.biz portal has issued a warning that Electronic Arts, the American publisher and developer, is gearing up to raise the cost of its EA Play subscription, in line with its competitors.
Price Increase Details
According to GamesIndustry.biz, the monthly subscription fee for EA Play across all platforms will surge from $4.99 / £3.99 / ₺40 to $5.99 / £5.99 / ₺219.99, while the annual subscription will jump from $29.99 / £19.99 / ₺250 to $39.99 / £35.99 / ₺1499.99.
Meanwhile, the EA App-exclusive EA Play Pro subscription, which offers bonus rewards and early access to EA games, will also witness a price hike. Monthly charges will elevate to $16.99 / £16.99 (up from $14.99 / £14.99), and yearly fees will increase to $119.99 / £109.99 (from $99.99 / £89.99), notes NIX Solutions.
Notification and Implementation
Reports indicate that Electronic Arts has commenced notifying active subscribers about the impending tariff adjustments, starting April 10. The changes will take effect for them in a month, starting May 10.
